Best robot lawn mowers (2026)

Picks for different yards, judged on the published area, slope rating, navigation and price. All of them work without a boundary wire. We haven't tested them hands-on; every number links to its source.

Best overall

Segway Navimow X430

1 acre 84% slope

$2,499

1 acre, 84% (40°) slopes and a 430 mm deck for $2,499. The best mix of area, slope and price among the mowers we cover.

Best under trees

Dreame A3 AWD 2000

0.5 acre 80% slope

$1,699.99

LiDAR and cameras with no RTK, so tree cover doesn't cost it its position. Half an acre and 80% slopes for $1,699.99.

Best for steep small yards

Dreame A3 AWD 1000

0.25 acre 80% slope

$1,399.99

80% slopes and LiDAR for $1,399.99, the cheapest climber here. The 7.9 in deck is narrow, so it mows slowly.

Best small-yard value

Segway Navimow i105

0.13 acre 30% slope

$799

$799 for a wire-free mower. Limited to 0.125 acre and 30% slopes, which covers many suburban lawns.

Best all-in navigation

Mammotion LUBA 3 AWD 3000H

0.75 acre 80% slope

$2,799

LiDAR, network RTK and cameras together, 80% slopes and up to 4 in cutting height for three quarters of an acre.

Best for big properties

Segway Navimow X390

2.5 acres 51% slope

$4,499

2.5 acres from one mower. The 27° slope limit means it suits big, mostly level lots.

How to choose

1. Measure the grass, not the plot

A half-acre lot often has a quarter acre of lawn once you remove the house, drive and beds. Rated areas are maximums, so leave some headroom. Our lawn measuring guide shows three quick ways.

2. Find your steepest slope

Ratings range from 18° (about 32%) on the eufy E15 to 40° (84%) on the Navimow X4 and WORX Vision 4WD. The slope guide explains how to measure it with a phone.

3. Match the navigation to your sky

RTK mowers need a clear view of the sky. LiDAR and vision mowers don't, which matters under big trees or between tall buildings. Read RTK vs LiDAR vs vision.

Then try your own numbers in the fit calculator.
